Research Question
How can extreme marine environments such as the deep sea and polar marine systems cope with multiple stressors conditions?
Ann Vanreusel has focused her research on the ecology of extreme marine environments including canyons, cold water corals, polar seas and cold seeps. Recently, much of her research has focused on the impacts of climate change on polar systems, microplastic pollution and extraction of polymetallic nodules.
