Research Question
What are the effects of ocean warming on fatty acid and epigenetic profiles of invertebrates situated at the bottom of the foodweb?

The project aims to define differences in epigenetic profiles, with a focus on methylation, and fatty acid profiles, with a focus on essential fatty acids and DHA, of different species of copepods. Pelagic and benthic copepod species are being exposed to different water temperatures over multiple generations. Data from these transgenerational experiments will be framed in foodweb ecology to identify upcoming key problems caused by climate change.
